CLIENT PROFILE – The PASSPORT Program is designed for young adults (male and female) who are struggling to gain independence, finding the transition to adulthood daunting, overwhelmed by the high-pressure climate of the DC Metropolitan area, lacking the confidence to successfully embrace college or a new career, and beginning to feel lost, depressed, anxious or socially isolated.
The PASSPORT Program is not designed to accommodate the needs of young adults with developmental delays, cognitive challenges, a long history of chronic mental illness, addiction that is primary, or recurrent suicidality.
In order to provide an individualized approach, the PASSPORT Program is limited to 6 clients at a time.
WEEKLY SCHEDULE – The program meets Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 10 AM – 2:00 PM.
PROGRAM COMPONENTS – The program consists of a variety of interventions including art, music, yoga, equine-assisted coaching, goal-setting, self-exploration exercises and outdoor recreation activities, as well as CBT, DBT, life skills, and dynamic group discussion. For those who need more intensive support, individual and family therapy is available. Parents are asked to participate in a bi-weekly Parent Support Group.
LOCATION – The PASSPORT Program meets at the KCCS office in Fairfax, VA. Clients are responsible for their own transportation to and from the Fairfax location. All transportation within program hours is provided.
FEES – The PASSPORT Program costs $225 per day which covers group therapy fees and the additional expenses associated with art, yoga, equine-assisted therapy and transportation. In addition, there is a one-time fee of $200 for the intake which includes a client meeting, a parent meeting, and consultation with the referring therapist. KCCS does not participate with any individual insurance carriers, so private payment is required. An invoice for payment is provided so that clients may submit for insurance reimbursement.
