Heather is a therapist with over 30 years of experience. After a decade of working in special education, she founded Kirby Creative Clinical Solutions in 2010. Heather works primarily with adolescents, young adults and parents. She addresses a wide range of challenges including anxiety, depression, anger, substance abuse, gender identity issues and learning disabilities. Her approach is direct, compassionate and creative and she uses alternative strategies to connect with clients and help them discover their best self.
Heather's true professional passion and gift is in connecting with teens and young adults who are discovering who they are and need support in learning to appreciate their uniqueness and live with authenticity.
She is also the author of Wild At Heart: Adolescents, Horses & Other Kindred Spirits and the co-author of the Trans Anthology Project which gives voice to trans young people and their parents.
When not working, Heather loves to be active outdoors. She enjoys hiking, gardening, kayaking, dog agility and horseback riding.
